The Commonwealth Graduate Engineering Program makes it possible for on-grounds students to take advantage of graduate engineering courses taught by video conferencing from other participating institutions; specifically, Virginia Tech and Virginia Commonwealth University.

All distance learning classes are real-time, two-way audio and video. Classes are taught by faculty at the originating insitution. The courses are listed under a UVA Special Topics in Distance Learning course number so that on-grounds students may register by UVA registration procedures (SIS). On-grounds technical and administrative support is provided. Textbooks are available from University Bookstore, unless otherwise noted in syllabus.

The on-grounds distance learning courses are available to full-time, part-time, and Continuing Studies students located in Charlottesville, Virginia.

For additional information on the distance learning courses or the program, please contact: Rita Kostoff, rfk2u@virginia.edu, phone: 924-4051.
