Registration Form
Note - this form has changed. Please use this updated form.
To register for classes in the Commonwealth Graduate Engineering Program, please use this form. The form should be given to your site coordinator, along with payment. Application to the Commonwealth Graduate Engineering Program (degree or non-degree) should be on file or in-process.
Guest Matriculant/Transient Student Form
The original intent of the Guest Matriculant/Transient Student form was to serve as application when a degree student in a UVA program wanted to take a course from another CGEP institution. It also verified the student had permission to use the course as part of his/her plan of study.
Because several of the CGEP institutions have upgraded to on-line registration, it was necessary for students to submit a non-degree application in order to be entered in the institution's system. Therefore, the Guest Matriculant form is essentially obsolete, unless required to prove graduate standing at the home insitutiton. It will be up to the student to secure permission from an advisor prior to registering for a class to ensure that the course may be used as part of a program of study, and the G101 form should be updated at that time.
Email or fax the form to Rita Kostoff, rfk2u@virginia.edu, fax: 434-924-4086. Or, call or email if you have questions. Phone: 434-924-4051
NOTE: Foreign Nationals who are in the USA on an F-1 (Student) Visa are supposed to be full-time students pursuing a degree. (CGEP doesn't meet those needs.) Those who are employed are on a G or H Visa and can take courses on a non-degree basis but can't pursue a degree. The TOEFL doesn't apply for CGEP because that test is required for full-time students in a degree program.
