I am the administrator of the Commonwealth Graduate Engineering Program at the University of Virginia. This is a distance learning program offering graduate degrees in several Engineering disciplines. Basically, my responsibilities include:
- Providing information on the program to prospective students
- Working with the departments to provide a schedule of classes and an up-to-date long-range plan
- Maintaining the CGEP web site, which is the main source of information for current and potential students
- Liaison with receive sites, answering questions, providing course informaton, and assisting where necessary
- Assisting instructors during the semester.
- Coordinating orientation sessions for instructors and providing materials and training required to teach a distance learning class
- Course materials distributiion as required; receiving and returning homework
- Assisting the CGEP Director with day-to-day running of the program and with periodic promotional functions.
